You know a reasonable person might say that your willingness to equate cannibalism and eating animals, even rhetorically, seriously calls into question the premisses of the argument for vegetarianism itself. Are we to understand vegetarianism as an attempt to give lesser animals a certain dignity? Or are we to understand it as an attempt to give them equal status in the eyes of the law/ethics as humans?

If its the former it might indeed be a reasonable and perhaps admirable ethical choice; if its the latter though I for one certainly do find it to be an extremely primitive ideology.
