i'd highly encourage listening to this entire talk from Davis. It's
only at the end where she gets at what abolitionism means, but it sure
as shit doesn't mean what everyone here is talking about. Matt came
about the closest to what she's talking about.

it is funny, listening to her, she's heard it all. it's not the first
time she's heard someone in the audience say "lady, you're fucked if
you think your program will work. ordinary people will think you are
looney."

Does anyone fathom, listening to her, that she gives a shit?  That is,
it doesn't seem to deter her from her work, from being good at it,
etc. etc. She doesn't seem to get all knotted up in the need to
provide excuses or explanations, etc.

Mostly, the reason she probably doesn't get rattled is that the people
making those charges haven't bothered to listen to what she's saying
in the first place. After awhile, it's easy not to be bothered by that
kind of ignorance, which is going to happen no matter what you do.

Do yousuppose it's cause she's a communist party tool? :)
