[lbo-talk] cleansing

i have been far too busy to pay attention to pop culture, but i do notice the growing array of ways to cleanse my shitter sitting on store shelves, pitched by 30 minute infomercials, and seemingly all the rage as I'm seeing it, more and more, done by bloggers.

and now, my son calls me last night, to regale me with a story of a night at work. he's a dealer in a casino and moves from table to table. he decided to do some liver cleanse thingy. so, he's drinking his liquids and such, having completely forgotten that, the day before, he managed to eat two containers of fiber-filled yogurt that is on the market (*lurch moan*)

so what the hell? obviously, it's marketed and shoved down people's throa uh yeah whatever... so that's partly why it's so popular. but things are marketed at us all the time, and they don't become so popular.

is this only an amercian thing? or are westerners, everywhere, yearning to get their shitters bright shiny squeaky clean.

i DEMAND an lbo issue devote an article to the topic in its relationship to economic chaos.
