"Living Marxism accused ITN of distorting the truth about Bosnia. Now, it faces ruin after losing the ensuing libel battle. Ed Vulliamy , who filed the first reports on the horrors of the Trnopolje camp, explains why an unholy alliance of Serb apologists and misguided intellectuals had to be defeated in court" 'Poison in the well of history', Guardian, 15 March 2000

But strangely, despite having proved their point, even in a court of law, and silenced their opponents, the architects of the war to dismember Yugoslavia, and their media outlets, are still struggling to make the argument stick. Here's David Clark, Foreign Office advisor who did most to promote the war against Yugoslavia in 2000 in the Guardian, today:

"Self-styled anti-imperialists, all too often apologists for the imperialism of any regime that opposes the west, have constructed an alternative history in which Slobodan Milosevic's crimes are minimised or excused and a rapacious west portrayed as the instigator of violence." 'Kosovo was a just war', Guardian, 16 April 2009
