I'm not sure what this means. Colbert inhabits the space of conservatives in what way?

I'm dubious of this study. Have you ever seen Colbert's appearance on the O'Reilly Factor, from 2007? It's the most dazzling improv sketch ever aired on television. Clearly Bill O'Reilly doesn't think the joke is on liberals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QquTUR9nbC4
