Well, yeah. But is there anyone who's actually thought about this?

The WSJ piece I just read said the gov plans to keep its GM stock in a trust, presumably delegating responsibility to "professional" managers. Dunno if they can get away with this, but it suggests the Obama admin is not interested in politicizing auto. But if the UAW had a 39% stake, that would mean that the union had a very very substantial influence, at least in theory, on the strategic direction of what is still one of the world's most important industries. Are they up to the task? Is there anyone with balls and/or imagination around the UAW? Or are they dead above the neck and below the waist?

Doug
