To make sense all posters on this thread would have to start over again
and this time recognize that "art" is not an evaluative term. There is
good art and there is bad art (arguably), but it is utterly stultifying
to contrsast art (good) with non-art (bad). Eddie Guest was just as
much a poet as Wordsworth, Pope, or Milton. He was just a bad poet.
But no one has EVER worked out a theoretical basis for judging one "work
of art" superior to another "work of art." One cannot help continuously
making judgments of art, but one can avoid taking such judgments has
having any theoretical significance.
