Gates would probably never treat a shopkeeper, a house painter, or a car salesman like he probably treated that cop.

And so Jordan, just answer the following question:
When on the receiving end of verbal disrespect, are the police justified in making an arrest when no other law has been broken, and/or are they justified in roughing up a citizen as a response to this verbal disrespect?
