I like Facebook, and am a frequent user. It may be the only place in the world where I've got more than 1,000 friends! Twitter, though, I just don't get. It looks like crap and is dominated by the most inane chatter. There's something damaging to the collective intelligence about a series of 140-character or less bleats. I'm no Christian, but I thought there was something almost sacrilegious about the way that Trinity Church tweeted the Passion of Jesus on Easter Weekend.

You see a lot of nonsense about how tweets are the way we do journalism today. If that's true, and it may be, we're doomed.

PS: I doubt that Carrol Cox has any idea what Twitter actually is, but I'll let that pass for now.
