The way I see this is, if I spend 2 or 3 hours fixing a problem on my system that saves me from doing some 15 minute manual task each week, I have more time for other things after only 12 weeks. ;-)

Doug, how much time have you spent using a recent Ubuntu distro on a modern PC? A friend of mine takes particular delight when he travels at sitting in the coffee shop and counting the number of hipster Mac users who can't stop staring at his Ubuntu laptop with the Compiz eye candy.
