we called them p.u.-bleak libraries, schools, etc. but they say (mingus) you gots to go through the mud to get the pearls. (i'm not sure of that---most people probably drown in the mud, which is why pearls have a high marginal utility or 'labor theory of value'). some librarians are cool, others are like some school teachers and prefer they just get paid and people stay home or just sleep quietly while they do their nails. two small libraries i used were real small, and you basically got put on the sh-t list if they saw you looking at a book on evolution or anything further removed from the truth. (in some cases, there were more open minded co-librarians who would protect you; after all, it was a public library, not someone's church..)
