You could choreograph to anything. I'm sure some experimental company has danced to a score provided by kitchen appliances. There's nothing particularly dance-y about anything that Cunningham choreographed to. But no one would ever listen to Cage or Tudor and feel like kicking up his or her heels. Or just about any of the Beethoven piano sonatas I'm listening to right now.
