Well, where do they get this from? Nevermind that I don't know what a depersonalising passion is because I don't think it matters. What I do think matters is that, as much as I love Dwayne, what kpunk wrote was just an insult. it was an adhominem attack. Why should I take this seriously?

Yes that's right, it was an ad hominem attack.

I brought grey vampirism to the table to describe the role Doss performs in, for example, the Prop 8 and Afghanistan debates where there's a patina of genuine inquiry but beneath that, an energy-sapping relentlessness...leading to the void.

I insist that in certain precise circumstances, properly formed ad hominems are a justifiable and devastatingly accurate weapon delivery system. I'll deploy them without reserve when it seems necessary.

As I wrote before, I find the concept a useful widget for describing a species of endless argument we've all endured online. I don't ask anyone else to take it seriously. I'm not sure why there's a debate.

I also love the "Godzilla: Final Wars" series: I'm sure others don't share my interest. Aint no thing but a chicken wing.
