Michael Pollak already responded to this, pretty much as I would have. We're getting pretty much what I expected. I got hammered by Gary Younge and Ta-Nehisi Coates at the Brecht Forum during the 2008 campaign for my expectations, and now I'm not going to stop saying "I told you so." It may not be attractive, but it's no fun being flamed as a cranky old white guy when what I was saying was right on target. Ok, enough gloating. Moving on, the fact that someone as substantial as Garry Wills has thrown in the towel in well under a year is very encouraging. Now if we could just energize that into some kind of movement, eh?
