Sheriff's detectives seek answers after 2 decomposed bodies found in Diamond Bar gated community
December 4, 2009
Sheriff's detectives are dealing with a mystery in Diamond Bar this morning involving two bodies that were discovered in a home Thursday evening.
The man and woman appeared to have been dead for some time, but officials are still trying to sort out what happened.
Deputies responded to the scene in the 200 block of North Diamond Bar Boulevard after they were alerted by a caller who smelled a foul odor coming from the home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Investigators are at the scene trying to determine how the two people died, and detectives are interviewing neighbors in the gated community, seeking people who might know the couple.
Investigators say they will face difficulties identifying the causes of death because of the severity of decomposition.
Neighbors told KTLA News that an 80-year-old woman and her son had lived in the home, though investigators have declined to comment on the age or genders of the bodies found. Deputies say there is no evidence of forced entry or weapons.
