Subjective reactions and their consequent judgments cannot be argued with. Undefined terms ("kitchy"), however, render such judgments suspect. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see the admission that at least the "non- kitchy" works of Sibelius--contra Adorno--deserve to survive.
