Blah blah blah. I am really sick unto death of this quote (or rather the implied "the anatomy of the ape is a clue to that of man, but not vice versa"), because it is clear bullshit. Obviously the anatomy of an organism is a clue to the anatomy of any organism that evolves from it. The descendents of blue whales in 2 million years are not going to have huge feathered wings and be soaring across the sky. By looking at the anatomy of homo sapiens, one can easily deduce that its immediate descendents will have brains, hearts, lungs, and kidneys, and almost certainly four limbs.
