Individuals can make little changes, but unless the economy -- and really this means the menu of "choices" that consumers can make -- changes first, you're just talking about a few people riding bikes. GM convinced people that 4WD SUVs were "cool" so they have to be the ones to convince people that they aren't. And they probably have to get encouraged to do this by incentives from the government.

You can't just say "daily life has to change" ... ok, I guess you did.

Of the three parties that are responsible for that change, "individuals" are last.
