I saw that Newsweek cover pic online and at first thought it was Photoshopped.

My suspicion: The Newsweek "We Are All Socialists" cover actually serves as an inflammatory, pro-right wing, polemicizing, demagogue-ish warning that will excite the GOP base and further embolden them to block anything that reeks of Keynesianism, pro-stimulus, or just plain practical economic sense.

Because -- WE ARE ALL SOCIALISTS! It will galvanize the right to be even more assholian than they are now in blockading reief to struggling Americans.

Where is the FDR mantra of "broad executive power" when you need it?

FDR, 1933: ""I am prepared under my constitutional duty to recommend the measures that a stricken nation in the midst of a stricken world may require. These measures, or such other measures as the Congress may build out of its experience and wisdom, I shall seek, within my constitutional authority, to bring to speedy adoption. But in the event that the Congress shall fail to take one of these two courses, and in the event that the national emergency is still critical, I shall not evade the clear course of duty that will then confront me. I shall ask the Congress for the one remaining instrument to meet the crisis: Broad Executive Power, to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe."

I say this of-the-cuff, from gut feeling rather than deep introspection, but when I read those words and see current econ. news/stats, a part of me is like, "Hell yes!" Go get 'em! Let's just fucking do this, for fuck's sake.
