Samuel Fuller also believed that there was no such thing as an anti-war movie. Screening the terror and the gruesome would always be an inducement for someone to sign up. He may have viewed part of the appeal of war as one of self-immolation, a death wish.
Fuller's films, war and non-war, are favorites of mine.
