There have been some straws in the wind on this subject. The famous Mearsheimer-Walt book a couple of years ago is one of them, ole Jimmy Carter's A-word book another. It's hard to imagine such mainstream figures saying these kind of things ten years ago. Seems quite possible that some elements of the US elites are getting a little fed up with Mini-Me and its promoters.

I have *not*, however, seen any sign that Obie and his crew have any interest in "recalibrating" the relationship. Elite dissatisfaction with the mad dogs of the Middle East will have to get a lot stronger and more pervasive before these folks are going to do anything about it.

Don't rule it out, but I personally will believe it when I see it.
