Of course the question of would we all be still using 386's in a socialist society is preposterous and unhistorical. Obviously we would all have Macs, the PC would never have been cobbled together. Who would be bothered?

Hopefully we would have progressed at least to Mac Plus by now. But if not, if we were still playing with the Fat Mac, the 512k/400k floppy, then we'd at least be content. People who had those things were very content at the time remember, in fact they were more than satisfied, they were actually smug.

Can any of us say that now?
