How does the situation at WBAI compare to the situation at KPFA when (was it?) the Pacifica board locked out the staff? I don't remember the specifics of the situation, but I do seem to recall that the staff/ public action was successful. Was there some local gov't support for the staff? Jerry Brown, maybe?
There was talk about the Pacifica board wanting to sell the licenses at that time, too. Is this still part of that same action? Although you would be affected directly if WBAI were sold, do you think that Pacifica might have served it's purpose admirably and deserves a more respectable exit than seems to be approaching? Have other media filled the role that Pacifica once filled?
Anyway, they had some pretty good protests in Berkeley.
