As Sara Roy pointed out in an interview on my radio show yesterday (to be posted to the archive later today), this is less of a change than it appears, because the Bush admin talked with Hamas privately. A public acknowledgment is different, of course, but not as different as Obama enthusiasts hope.
And how does that balance against the appointment of the awful Dennis Ross as ME envoy?
