The point is not only the bad writing because there is reams of that on most campuses or gushing out of the blogosphere.

The point I think is that his comments sound just the like the whole Freeze campaign, much ado about not nearly as much as one would hope. That probably pretty well describes the entire Obasm so far too--and since that is still at least millimeters more breathing room than the outgoing regime, we all better run with it.
