"I'm a little bit spinning," she says. She also seems a little bit sheltered. This year Hillary Clinton selected Céline's song, "You and I," as her campaign anthem. But Céline couldn't care less about Hillary's campaign. "I know nothing about it," she says. "If I start talking about politics I'm just going to make people wonder, 'What is she talking about!?' " She's not even sure where she can vote, the United States or Canada. "It would not be fair to vote for something you don't know what the circumstances are bringing. A lot of people vote and then they complain."

On the other hand, there's this:

Pop singer Celine Dion, on with Larry King this Saturday, went on a rather impassioned tirade about conditions in New Orleans. In her rant, she suggested that Americans should turn a blind eye to looters, while implying that there is a certain hypocrisy between the war in Iraq and those not evacuated prior to Katrina making landfall.

CD: Some people are stealing, and they’re making a big deal out of it. “Oh, they’re stealing 20 pair of jeans, or they’re stealing television sets.” Who cares? They’re not going to go too far with it. Maybe those people are so poor, some of those people who do that, they’ve never touched anything like that in their lives. Let them touch those things for once.

The main thing right now, it’s not the people who are stealing. It’s the people that are left there, and they’re watching helicopters flying over their heads. And they’re praying. How come it’s so easy to send planes in another country to kill everyone in a second and destroy lives?
