By the way, can somebody tell me where the hell the word Graeci (Greeks) comes from? It doesn't sound remotely like "Hellenes." Was there some tribe or city-state at the wast of Greece, err I mean Hellas, by that name that the Romans took the word from?

(I've been refreshing my Attic Greek and am still amazed that anybody ever spoke a language this grammatically complicated. Thank God for the Bible BTW -- even without really good Greek, you can still read it, and it provides a sense of accomplishment! It takes me a half hour or so to fumblingly translate a page of Herodotus, but the New Testament? We're rocking now, baby! It's translate-by-sight time!)
