That is why any actual gains have to be won "on the streets" not in the halls of congress or through voting for a president.
If and when a "single payer" plan is passed and signed it will be passed by a Congress that almost unanimously doesn't like it and signed by a president who hates it. They will do it because it will be the only way to maintain order in thenation.
