Part 1 was fantastic, Soderbergh is mainstream yes, but he also has a batch of excellent, excellent experimental films like "The Girlfriend Experience".

Both parts 1 and 2 stuck very close to historical fact (Jon Anderson's biography), but the movie is *very* similar to "Public Enemies" and "The Baader-Meinhoff Complex" (especially the former) in how he really just focuses on the character and his struggle/actions and not on the broader context and ideology at play.
