There were significant evolutions in his thought from the early 60s and
before, to the late 80s. "Socialism: Past and Future" has a few flaws, but
is a classic text in my view. There are a bunch of good works that show his
evolution as a Marxist theorist, despite the wrong steps he might have taken
on certain important issues (namely Vietnam).
