this is exactly right.

and frankly, part of that vaunted anti-racism, anti-profiling training this pork-powered individual was said to have been involved in? it should include exactly this kind of training: how to cool down and chill out, and how to understand why the interaction is necessarily going to be shaped by a history of racial humiliation.
