that's a status distinction Lawrence Otis Graham draws in Our Kind of
People. Among the Jack and Jill crowd, it's usually considered bad form to
send your kids to anything but an HBC. Graham, himself, went to Harvard,
IIRC, so he wrote that section from his direct experience with the dilemma.
