Chavez and Morales had planned to fly into El Salvador together for
the inauguration of president Funes. They canceled the trip at the
last minute. In San Salvador, Daniel Ortega, Nicaragua's president
revealed that, due to "strict security reasons," Chavez and Morales
had decided to cancel their participation in the event. Yesterday,
Chavez spoke about it. Here's a link to a video where he addresses
the issue. A terrorist group linked to Posadas Carriles, ex CIA
agent, the criminal responsible (along with Orlando Bosch) for (inter
alia) blowing into pieces a Cubana plane crowded with Cuban and
Caribbean youth near Barbados in 1976. Posada now lives in the U.S.,
under the tacit protection of the U.S. government. The government of
Venezuela has repeatedly requested that he be extradited as there's a
pending case against him there.
