that you've repeated a grotesque mischaracterization of a proposal made during times when Pacifica looked unable to continue without some form of money infusion from somewhere. The "giving away" part was just a lie, as was the "deny the New York area any alternative radio" part. It was a desperate suggestion, forced in large part by WBAI's inability to do its part in fundraising.
It didn't fly, which has turned out to be a good thing, as Pacifica managed to survive without it, but that was not clear at the time.
