Interestingly, the Beijing Olympics (which witnessed a hugely popular
environmental cleanup of the city) is the model for Sochi:

This is good news for the world-economy. If the EU sells tons of eco-tech
to the Eurasian semi-periphery, and the semi-periphery invests its
energy-rents in its industrial base, the world won't have to depend on
bubble-crazed US consumers anymore.
