That comment was conjectural anyway, assuming the election actually was rigged, which I don't know. Everything I think I know about this election business has all come via the American and British press, whom I do know often put out "news" about that part of the world which later turns out to be utter fiction. The notion that the Iranian theocracy is falling apart due to internal discontent over the abrogation of Democracy is the kind of wishful thinking they're especially fond of.
