They can't achieve their aim, they don't have a mass base and the population
is sick of war.  Republican terror will only bring back the Loyalist
paramilitaries and the British Army-- which would only bring more death and
violence to the region, sharpening ethnic divides.

Obviously a segment of the left will applaud from afar the martyrs of
Ireland, but a rational look at the conditions in North Ireland today would
make anyone hope that this was an isolated incident and not a sign of things
to come.
