[WS:] Good point. Historically, working class was far more likely to fall for nationalism than for socialism, let alone internationalism. They were more likely to march in the lock-step with the military to jingoistic fife and drum music (or Horst Wessel Lied http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/mod/horstwessel.html ) than organize revolutionary parties to the tune of L'Internationale (http://www.hymn.ru/internationale/index-en.html ). The latter was the domain of left wing intellectuals and radicalized peasantry - for the most part.
