I'm not sure how credible the reference was or my memory is, but if I recall correctly Mao tinkered with geo-engineering projects like cloud seeding (and the latter has been part of the CCP's arsenal ever since). So Mao may not have revoked the law of gravity or ignored the weather, but he tried to revoke the weather.
