As ravi suggests, Gould's Structure of Evolutionary Theory is no longer
current in its science, BUT, I think those really interested in
evolutionary science should read it anyhow: It is a classic of
Intnellectual History, and many avoidable errors in referring to what
biologists have thught when and what was or was nnot connected with what
would be avoided by reading it. It is also a classic of cultural
history, and will remain important long after _all_ the sicence in it
has been passed by.
