Oh, well when you said "my definition of leftist" I thought that would transcend borders, you know, internationalism, "workers of the world unite" that kind of thing.
But seriously, speaking as someone who is skeptical of "abolishing prisons" and who considers themselves part of "the core" that you referred to in your response to Doug, I certainly can be in agreement that it would be a good thing to find humane alternatives to what prisons are now, decriminalize drugs and petty offenses, rehabilitation etc..
However, nobody who advocates "abolishing prisons" seems to come up with a good answer to what to do with the truly violent predatory personalities that do indeed exist out there.
"Those who object to it or quibble about monsters are not part of the intended audience."
Ok, then what about RACIST MURDEROUS THUGS, RAPISTS etc! Certianly their victims might be part of your intended audience? Do you propose to them confinement to a luxury resort as well?
"I left out, however, one more important slogan: Open Borders."
I can be completely supportive of that in substance, but again as a slogan and policy proposal it needs to be finessed into something that appeals to people's sense of justice.
