I graduated from Fairfax High in 1971. At that time the school was, or 
seemed to be 95% Jewish, and was the top public school (academically) in 
L.A. At any rate, it pretty much closed down on the Jewish holidays. If 
this demographic profile has persisted to some degree it makes sense of 
the election of the queen. If it hasn't, it makes the election even more 
interesting, particularly given that the queen was Latino.
