I didn't say that they were equally important, and, you may note, explicitely disavowed such a thing (not that that would be neccessary in any sane discussion.) I just noted both of them as attitudes. If I classify the Shoah and the 2009 World Series as events, do I compare them in any meaningful sense?
Something doesn't need an objective basis to matter. My love for my close friends and family lacks an objective basis. It still motivates my behavior and I'm glad it does.
