Bollywood could probably save global cinema if American and European film snobs would simply pay attention. I am consistently amazed that people who claim to be interested in film, who watch movies from all kinds of European countries and many East Asian countries, will either ignore or outright reject, with stunning arrogance, the cinema of South Asia.
For a sample of the remarkable horror cinema of Pakistan, I refer you to the website of the historic Lahore-based combination ice cream shop and cinematic history archive The Hot Spot: http://www.thehotspotonline.com/miniflicks/framer.htm
The ice cream is okay, though it lacks the distinctive buffalo-milk flavor of the more commercial varieties.
