I've seen all of them escept two! Can I have, like, gold stars or something? Oh, Jaffas!

Seriously, the dominance of "family" rated movies here really matters to markets and marketing and while the relation between ratings, marketing and production are a really complex question that's not even touched on in this list one of the reasons I would have seen many of these movies is because they are pitched as fantasy accessible to children. And children are now a crucial movie audience category for gaining the kind of dollars at stake in this list.

By the way, Carrol, how many of those movies have you seen? Of course you probably won't answer, but I thought it was worth a try anyway.

Oh, and you don't think that profit maximization has any deleterious effects on culture? Or does your usual railing about rampant barbarism exempt culture from its critique?
