True. There's a great review of the film at http://io9.com/5301898/michael-bay-finally-made-an-art-movie

"Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is one of the greatest achievements in the history of cinema, if not the greatest. You could easily argue that cinema, as an artform, has all been leading up to this. It will destabilize your limbic system, probably forever, and make you doubt the solidity of your surroundings."

It really is a very strange film, full of sexy insectile fembots attempting to penetrate Shia LaBeouf. The teenage-boy pandering you expect from this kind of blockbuster overflows and turns into really weird and disturbing body-horror, like an idiot-savant Cronenberg with a billion-dollar budget.
