However, Keynes's rabid anticommunism apparently did not prevent him from making friends with people in the Soviet embassy in London. According to Ray Monk's biography of Wittgenstein, Wittgenstein when he was attempting to emigrate to the Soviet Union went to Keynes in order to sound out his contacts with the embassy to smooth things out for him.

I'm with Keynes on a most of that. I admire lots about him. But he had a few problems too - he was a rabid anti-communist, aside from being an ruling class snob and bigot.
