"Brezhnevist" might be a better term, BTW. If you told anybody in the former USSR or satellites that the 1970s were Stalinist, they would look at you funny. "Stalinist" in the fUSSR is a term mostly used for architecture, and as applied to a political system it's something that Trotskyist cultists, with their self-referential Stalin vs. Trotsky obsession, made up.
