[But wait, I thought Gaddafi had made his peace with the North American devil, even cozied up to it by declaring Obama his son and renouncing the right to develop socialist nuclear weapons. The politics of anti-imperialism are so confusing.... Chavez becomes more and more of a buffoon everyday.]

President Chavez grants Liberator Order to his Libyan counterpart

Margarita Island, Sept 28. ABN (Nazareth Balbas, special correspondent).- In an emotional act carried out in the Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela in Porlamar, Nueva Esparta state (Venezuela's northeast), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias granted the collar Order of the Liberator to the leader of the Libyan revolution, Muammar Al Gaddafi.

“The entire people of Margarita is full of joy with your presence and they pay you homage as prove of our love and affection to Libyan people, to Arab people, African people, to the great Libyan revolution,” Chavez said.

Gaddafi visited Venezuela to participate the II Africa-South America Summit (ASAS). This was the first visit of Gaddafi to a Latin American country.

Gaddafi held a bilateral meeting with the Venezuelan Head of State in which both presidents expressed their satisfaction about the high levels on the relations between Libya and Venezuela; they reiterated their commitment to reinforce the cooperation on areas of common interest; and they reiterated the call made at the General Assembly of the United Nations of reforming the hegemony of the Security Council over people.

Therefore, Chavez urged to keep the fight against colonialism, imperialism and he assured that the II ASAS will mark a point to change history.

“We are making history. We are facing the imperialism, the bourgeoisie and backwardness, the colonialism of more than 500 years that has assaulted our peoples and that's why the Bolivarian Revolution is full of jubilation with the presence of one of the great leaders of this century,” Chavez said.
