Don't get me wrong, Marx took elections very seriously, esp. in France; his 3 books of analyses of them are genius, esp. the Brumaire.
But I think he made it extremely clear that the ruling class will never allow themselves to be summarily expropriated without fighting back militarily. And I think he's right.
